This small, landlocked country with more than seventy distinct ethnic groups has been my second home since 2006. I first traveled there to photograph Hmong villages for my book 'Soul Calling.' I ended up returning nine times and learning Lao language at the University of Wisconsin. These photographs focus on the natural beauty of the country and its dominant Lao Buddhist culture.
